Why Did the Chicken Wander Around the Woods?

Maybe so it could get saved? Thanks to Annette and Chris, who found the chicken in a forest preserve. They contacted Red Door, who gave them some advice on catching it and hooked them up with Paulette, our chicken-duck expert [she also took the baby ducks after Easter]. Last we heard, the chicken had introduced herself to the other hens at Paulette's and was settling into her new home.

Watseka Rabbits Arrive--Sienna Kicks Back

Sienna, one of the original Watseka rabbits, arrived at Red Door Wednesday night. She immediately started to cool her heels in one of our iso rooms, as she recovers from her spay. Another Watseka bunny--Ava, a white mini-rex with blue eyes--arrived, too.

Bark in the Park Fun

Red Door had fun at Anti-Cruelty's Bark in the Park event, Saturday, May 5. So did Dr. Gene Mueller of ACS--shown here collecting a kiss from Red Door's board member Toni Greetis (with Tookie caught between them!). Joanne Burns, board member, had to settle for a kiss from Jake. Remember, there will be this much fun--and more!--at the Gimme Shelter walk on June 3. Don't miss it!
